Summary and Qualifications:

Manage the sourcing, recruitment, and selection process for assigned functions/regions, with a focus on assisting with developing of associates who support the recruitment, sourcing, and hiring of central team support and field leadership professionals.

Perform full lifecycle sourcing and recruiting and the creation of appropriate strategies and action plans for their specific functional and niche areas to include but not limited to informational technology, marketing, finance, legal, human resources, operations, veterinary affairs, corporate affairs with a focus on securing top talent for Banfield while providing the highest level of staffing services while guiding hiring managers and candidates through the selection process.

Ensure use of in depth understanding of external best practices and benchmarking along with the strategic hiring processes and key recruiting metrics.

Essential Responsibilities and Tasks:

  • Live and exemplify the Five Principles of Mars, Inc. within self and team.
  • Support recruitment team oversight: coach, mentor, and provide guidance to assist with the professional development and the engagement of associates on the team.
  • Perform full lifecycle recruitment and/or sourcing including pre-screening resumes and candidates for assigned functions. Creatively source and develop search strategies to identify candidates for a diverse range of positions. 
  • Organize, lead, and communicate effectively regarding the day-to-day recruitment operations for assigned client groups.
  • Create and maintain open communication and partnerships with internal customers to understand staffing needs while providing an exceptional level of service to hiring leaders and candidates throughout the hiring process.
  • Partner with senior leadership to identify functional needs and workforce-planning strategies.
  • Utilize behavioral interviewing techniques to evaluate candidates.
  • Leverage industry best practices for the creation and execution of action plans necessary to achieve goals.
  • Maintain accurate and organized documentation on all candidates and recruitment activities in the applicant tracking system.
  • Meet established talent acquisition metrics, drive continuous process improvement and act as a resource to hiring managers.
  • Ensure proper and confidential protection of candidate data, recruiting and hiring practices comply with governmental regulations and company policy and procedure requirements.
  • Directly source candidates, identifying leads through networking, referrals, and other professional social networking.
  • Propose and participate in ongoing best practices and improvements to our current recruitment efforts.
  • Retain and manage relationships with additional recruiting support, such as sources, coordinators, employer brand and internal and external agency partners.
  • Other job duties as assigned.

Special Working Conditions:

  • Ability to work at a computer for long periods of time. 
  • Project timelines and work volume/deadlines may often require more than 40 hours per week to complete essential duties of this job.
  • Must have mental processes for reasoning, remembering, mathematics and language ability (reading, writing, and speaking the English language) to perform the duties proficiently.
  • Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form and to solve problems involving several variables.
  • Ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and climb as well as manipulate (lift, carry, move) up to 50 pounds.
  • Requires good hand-eye coordination, arm-hand-finger dexterity with the ability to grasp, and visual acuity to use a keyboard and operate necessary equipment.
  • The noise level in the work environment is normally moderate.
  • Environment where pets are present.

Experience, Education and/or Training:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or Business Administration is preferred, or the equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
  • PHR/SPHR and/or AIRS certification is preferred.
  • Six years of full lifecycle in-house corporate recruiting experience are required.
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to inspire confidence and build relationships are required.
  • Prior leadership and/or line manager experience is preferred.
  • Healthcare background (veterinary or human healthcare, pharmaceutical, etc.) is preferred.
