Why did you choose Banfield?

I chose Banfield because of its reputation for quality pet care and associate wellbeing. I was really looking for a company with an inclusive culture, a good work-life balance, and genuinely cared about our overall happiness inside and outside the office. Banfield checked all the boxes and, on top of that, emphasized the importance of a better world for pets. Working for a company with such high standards for both its people and their pets is a dream job for me.

Tell us about yourself:

I have been a recruiter for about four years, and I couldn’t imagine doing anything else. I love getting to know people and hearing stories of how they got to where they are today. Being able to help them find their career path is the ultimate reward. I am so grateful to do what I love every day.

What qualities do you look for when hiring veterinarian technicians?

Besides the technical certification, I really look for someone who is reliable, a team player, loves to learn, and can contribute to the positive environment we have here at Banfield.

What tips do you have for veterinarian technicians when evaluating a practice to work?

Ask as many questions as you can to make sure it’s as much of a fit for you as it is for them.
Learn about the company you are considering. Do your research and see if their mission aligns with what motivates you. Chat with current associates to see how they feel about the company.

What’s your favorite dog breed? Why?

My favorite dog breed is a Corgi. I love that they have adorably short legs, energy for days and that they are stubborn as can be—I’m always up for a good challenge. I have two heeler/corgi’s, and they really teach you about patience and working together.
