Why did you choose Banfield?

I chose Banfield because I wanted to work for a reputable company that is a leader in the industry, making a difference in our community and the lives of our pets.

Tell us about yourself:

I am originally from a small beach town in California and moved to Portland in 2012. Shortly after, I began my recruiting career. In addition to working for Banfield, I also work at a med-spa in my free time. I have a background in esthetics and have a passion for the skincare and beauty industry.

What qualities do you look for when hiring veterinarians?

I’m looking for someone with enthusiasm, passion, a team player, and dedication to providing quality care to our pets.

What tips do you have for veterinarians when evaluating a practice to work?

Ask questions. Get to know the associates during an interview to learn if the hospital will be a good fit. In addition, research more about the company culture and principles to see if it aligns with your values.

What do you love most about finding veterinarian talent?

I love building relationships. I enjoy getting to know the candidate, learning about their interests, and gaining more knowledge of their experience, strengths, and key motivators. Then my job is to match them to a hospital that will be the best fit. It’s almost like matchmaking, which is exciting. I find joy when the candidate is just as excited about meeting the team and wants to join Banfield because I’ve contributed to making a better life for our team, pets, and community.
