Banfield offers Optimum Wellness Plans that include customized, high-quality prevent care for every pet’s unique needs. Through these plans, Banfield doctors have delivered tens of millions of vaccinations, elective sterilizations, dental procedures and more due to the practice’s scale and commitment to supporting five categories of life stage wellness:primary care, preventable disease, oral health, mobility, and nutrition.Banfield serviced nearly 2.5 million wellness plans last year.
Anesthesia Resources
Banfield offers veterinary professionals data-informed and evidence-based anesthesia resources aimed at reducing anesthesia-related mortality in dogs and cats. Made available to the entire industry, these protocols are used in Banfield’s hospitals as part of our medical quality standards. We provide such resources to help our veterinary teams up-level their practice, reduce risk associated with anesthesia, and help ensure patient and associate safety with every procedure. We are proud that we have recently had this work published in the Veterinary Anesthesia and Analgesia Journal.
Dental Focus
Oral health is an important focus for Banfield hospitals given its influence on the broader health of the pet. That’s why dental care is included in our Optimum Wellness Plans. Banfield offers Oral Health Clinical Essentials, closely aligned with the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA) and American Veterinary Dental College (AVDC), to help improve the quality and consistency of dental care provided to our patients.
Clinical Skills Training Program
Banfield offers a Clinical Skills Training program designed specifically to upskill our paraprofessionals and give them protected time to focus on early and continued career development. We believe paraprofessionals with strong clinical skills provide higher quality care to pets, are better equipped to meet client demand, and provide better support to the doctors in their hospitals. This is one of the many ways we recognize the significant impact of paraprofessionals on our success and help them grow their careers.
VET Report
The Veterinary Emerging Topics (VET)TM Report is made possible through a partnership between the North American Veterinary Community (NAVC) and Banfield. This openly available report combines the power of Banfield’s extensive access to data with open, solution-based dialogue to help improve patient outcomes across the profession. Banfield and NAVC have produced six editions of the VET Report to date.
Industry Summit
The annual Pet Healthcare Industry Summit hosted by Banfield brings together industry leaders to tackle complex issues facing our profession – from veterinary student debt and wellbeing, to diversifying our profession and the shortage of veterinary professionals. We host this event because we believe in the power of collaboration to find solutions that will create a thriving industry and systemic, lasting change. To date, we have hosted 20 Pet Healthcare Industry Summits, each event bringing together over 150 leaders from across the industry.
