This position requires an onsite presence at the Banfield Pet Hospital headquarters in Vancouver, Washington, with a hybrid work schedule (3 days/week).

Expected Duration: 6-month temporary assignment

Summary and Qualifications:

The Business Intelligence Analyst will act as the first point of contact with end users to understand their needs with operational reporting and analysis systems. They will research and troubleshoot their questions.

Essential Responsibilities and Tasks:

• Live and exemplify the Five Principles of Mars, Inc. within self and team.
• Primary point of contact to support end users of reporting and analysis systems including intake of questions and feedback around report functionality, data definitions and quality, system access, and data lineage.
• Investigate and troubleshoot data definition and quality questions by reviewing documentation, tracking data lineage, and querying self-service data models or the database.
• Respond to end users and stakeholders with clear language and supporting evidence.
• Coordinate with end users to understand and document their requirements for reporting and analysis needs.
• Coordinate closely with IT on cross functional projects.
• Build data models and reports that will deliver high quality information to advance data driven business decisions.
• Utilize analytic and software program skills to prototype new corporate metrics in a sandbox environment and is the business liaison when the metric is ready to be formalized in the central data warehouse.
• Other job duties as assigned.

• Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form and to solve problems involving several variables.
• Ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and climb as well as manipulate (lift, carry, move) up to 25 pounds.
• Requires good hand-eye coordination, arm-hand-finger dexterity with the ability to grasp, and visual acuity to use a keyboard and operate necessary equipment.
• The noise level in the work environment is normally moderate.
• Environment where pets are present.

Experience, Education and/or Training:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Systems, Engineering, Finance is preferred, or the equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
• Three years of experience in Computer Science, Systems, and/or Data Analysis are required.
• Experience with Business Intelligence tools, including PowerBI and SQL, is required.
• Experience working with large cross-functional teams in a matrixed organization is required.
• Experience within Finance or HRIS is preferred.

Salary Range:

The pay range for this role is $30-40/hour. 

The pay range listed reflects a general hiring range for the area, with the specific rate determined based on the candidate’s experience, skill level, abilities, and education, and may vary depending on location and schedule.
