This will be a remote role based out of the Banfield Pet Hospital headquarters in Vancouver, WA.

Salary Range: $129,880 - $178,585 (DOE)

Summary and Qualifications:

Responsible for designing, developing, and implementing software solutions that meet the needs of our financial clients while adhering to industry regulations and security standards.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze requirements, architect scalable solutions, and ensure the highest level of performance and reliability. Coordinate with payment providers and related vendors to ensure optimal integration with their systems.

Lead code reviews and provide technical guidance to maintain high-quality code standards.

Essential Responsibilities and Tasks:

  • Live and exemplify the Five Principles of Mars, Inc. within self and team.
  • Lead design, development, and maintenance of an enterprise-wide banking ecosystem comprised of .NET-based applications/services and eCommerce, point-of-sale and IVR (Interactive Voice Response) platforms.
  • Work with Technical Leads, Management, Business Stakeholders, IT Architects, and fellow Principal Engineers on the selection and implementation of technical solutions to meet the needs of the business.
  • Project management responsibilities to include the development of cost estimates, timelines, milestones, and technical documentation for new projects.
  • Architect and implement solutions that comply with industry regulations, such as PCI, and others, ensuring data security and privacy.
  • Participate in Agile development processes, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.
  • Work closely with QA teams to ensure thorough testing of applications and resolve any defects or issues identified.
  • Coordinate with payment providers and related vendors to ensure optimal integration with their systems.
  • Other job duties as assigned.

Special Working Conditions:

  • Ability to work at a computer for long periods of time. 
  • Project timelines and work volume/deadlines may often require more than 40 hours per week to complete essential duties of this job.
  • Must have mental processes for reasoning, remembering, mathematics and language ability (reading, writing, and speaking the English language) to perform the duties proficiently.
  • Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form and to solve problems involving several variables.
  • Ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and climb as well as manipulate (lift, carry, move) up to 50 pounds.
  • Requires good hand-eye coordination, arm-hand-finger dexterity with the ability to grasp, and visual acuity to use a keyboard and operate necessary equipment.
  • The noise level in the work environment is normally moderate.
  • Environment where pets are present.

Experience, Education and/or Training:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science is required, or the equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
  • 15 years of IT Software development and design are required.
  • A minimum of eight years of experience in software development using .NET technologies are required.
  • Expertise in C#, ASP.NET, MVC, Web API, Entity Framework, SQL Server, and other relevant .NET technologies is required.
  • Proven experience in the banking and/or finance industry, with a strong understanding of financial systems, regulations, and security standards, is required.
